My motto & message is not for everyone, but it is for someone.
***If you need help or encouragement — shoot me a text to connect:
I posted my 1st newsletter via Substack earlier today, closed my computer & headed out the door for a workout at the gym.
I apologize if the post negatively affected you. That was not my intentions.
Shortly after arriving at the gym, I noticed dozens of notifications from the post… the subject line ‘Your House is on Fire’ was intended to capture people’s attention, but not harm or alarm anyone. I assumed the subtitle would be shown on people’s subject line via Substack, but did not realize once published, it would send an email blast as well only showing the main subject line — ‘Your House is on Fire’
Rookie mistake… some people were PISSED.
I received death threats, people calling me faggot, gay, worthless, asshole, so many more lovely names (see above)
But, the text message I received above is why I truly believe everything happens for a reason — mistakes included. Again… my message is not for everyone, but it is for someone.
Although it is easy to deflect on my end and say…
“Uh… open the email, scroll down & clearly see it was a newsletter, not your actual house being on fire”
I am not deflecting and understand the confusion this could have potentially created for some of you.
I take full ownership.
Again, if that post negatively affected you — I apologize & hope you forgive me — again, it was not my intentions to cause any havoc.
Moving on…
I have learned more about myself and my peers in the past 12 months than I have in the past 12+ years.
I’ve recognized the obvious trends of people being fixated on everything being instant & perfect — rather than patient & authentic.
This is a major reason why I created my podcast show, All For Nothing. And I am grateful it has become a top performing podcast show.
People are too scared to own their mistakes, so they only share what is perceived perfection online or do not share at all because they are scared of the potential criticism & judgment. People act like they have your back until it’s against the wall. People act like they care, but oftentimes operate on their own hidden agenda.
Face to face with my Guests, each episode provides the space & time to be present — zero distractions. Truly present for 1-3+ hours in some instances. Asking questions, we share our stories, business tactics, investment insights, & unpack what is on our heart & mind.
My objective is simple & advice to each guest is simple — Be You
Many people think I should keep shows 60 minutes or less because people won’t listen if it is too long. Those same people giving me unsolicited advice — most of the time, do not even create themselves or better yet, have no problem watching hours upon hours of videos, TV, Netflix, or whatever online platform of their choice every single day.
Most of you even think this newsletter is too long. And copywriter gurus will have a laundry list of things I am doing ‘wrong’ — my message is not for everyone, but it is for someone.
If that someone is not you — unsubscribe.
Through out my workout, I started getting super anxious to finish my workout early & send out this message. But, I kept thinking how this exact reason is why I created my Podcast show, All For Nothing. The platform allows me and Guests to share anything & everything we desire to share.
I hope this apology encourages you to not fear being your authentic self & owning your mistakes.
The peasants… they may watch your every move, but don’t pay no mind — they hide in the shadows for a reason — they are too scared to be themselves.
